I haven't turned Cyprus for quite a while....

I haven't turned Cypress for quite a while but have started to use some from a tree that what cut down in my parents complex.

A small vase about 150 mm (6") tall

A taller vase from a different perspective than usual, I reckon it's to be about 250 (10") mm tall

There are shavings on the floor again!

For the first time in 2012 there are some shavings on the floor again!

Wet turned from White Stinkwood - I left the top natural, what do you think?

Still on the lathe, also wet but giving me lots of problems with cracks. Superglue to the rescue. I don't like using the stuff but we'll see how it turns out.

I've finished the burning

It has taken me a while but the burning has been completed. Made from Jacaranda, about 180 mm (7") tall. The idea is to apply texture through pyrography. Do you like it?

I'm back from holiday and it's a new year!

I back from holiday. I was out of town visiting Mpumalanga and the KwaZulu Natal South Coast.

I find this shape to be challenging so I need some practice....

Here are my latest attempts, made from Teak, the tallest is about 300 mm (12") tall

 My attempt at the classical Osolnik candlesticks. Made from Acacia and the tallest is about 200 mm (8") high. This form is going to need some practice.....
