Some new pieces this week

The first of two pieces made from wood from a conifer (I think!) Found in Irene. The pith shavings of this wood is mustard in colour and as as you can see there is quite a big contrast between the heartwood and sapwood. About 200 mm dia, the base is a bit heavy looking I think.

A vase in progress, an attempt to really get this thin. We'll see how this goes!
