A Eucalyptus vase

A vase turned from Eucalyptus ( I'm not sure what sort). About 160 mm (6 1/2") high. The piece has a couple of coats of shellac applied as a sealer - I recently started doing this and seems to produce a better finish. This wood was dry and comes from a tree that had to be removed from my garden a couple of years ago. Tell me what you think!

  1. Hi Andrew, would like to talk to you about the shellac sealer but will hopefully talk see you at one of the next woodturning meetings, where do you buy it and do you use it as sealer and then put a final finish on top or is the shellac the final finish?
Would also like to hear your comments on the latest piece on my blog that I did during a course in Germany
    Regards
    Carel
